House of Royal Wines & Cellar Museum: A unique museum
hidden under the surfice of Buda’s Castle hill. The wine cellars (1,400m2 in total) once belonged to the Royal Castle as well as to the citizens who lived in the territory of the Renaissance era of Buda. The oldest part of the dungeon was built 700 years ago. The museum awaits visitors with special programs in December; during the Advent period this special venue hosts a Christmas wine- and champagne fair every weekend. Hungary’s 22 wine disticts are introduced along with the most considerable wine- and champagne makers and wine styles. Dec 13-14 & 20-21, Szentgyörgy tér, Nyugati sétány, District I, Buda Castle.
