Municipality Chairman accused |
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bács-Kiskun County accuses Orbán Kolompár, Chairman of the National Roma Municipality and three others with gaining illicit economical advantage, reported Hungarian Daily, Népszabadság.
According to the charges the Roma Representation Organization of Kiskunmajsa, led by Kolompár won Ft13 million from the National Employment Foundation (OFA) in 2005 to build a Roma employment network to raise Roma employment in the region. The organization received Ft7 million of the amount before OFA halted the issuing claiming the organization has breached the conditions and issued a civil lawsuit. According to the prosecutor’s office the organization certified the use of the received funds by false invoices from two companies that are closely attached to Kolompár.
